These Solar Lantern String Lights from Lighting Alfresco combine warm white LEDs with small fabric lanterns for outdoor decoration. The solar panel charges a built-in rechargeable battery during the day, and the lights activate at dusk when switched on. White lanterns give the strand a consistent appearance, while the Colorful option combines blue, yellow, green, red and purple lanterns. Both lantern colour options use warm white light, so the colour of the lantern covering differs from the LED light colour.

Three strand sizes correspond to the number of lanterns selected. The 10-light option measures 3.5m overall, the 20-light option measures 5m and the 30-light option measures 6.5m. Each includes a 2m lead for positioning the solar panel, leaving illuminated sections of 1.5m, 3m and 4.5m respectively. The lanterns measure approximately 7cm across and are spaced approximately 15cm apart, creating a repeating pattern along a balcony, patio or garden display.

The solar unit has an ABS body and a 600mAh Ni-MH battery. Charging takes approximately six to eight hours in direct sunlight, with charging performance depending on conditions and panel placement. The lanterns attach to the string during assembly, and a ground stake supports the solar panel. These lights are non-dimmable and provide decorative illumination for outdoor spaces without requiring a mains connection.
